2. Key Roles in Inventory Management
2.1 Inventory Manager
The Inventory Manager is responsible for strategic inventory planning, ensuring compliance with company policies, and overseeing all inventory operations.
Key Responsibilities
Policy & Compliance
Enforce and update the Inventory Management Policy.
Ensure compliance with company regulations and Audit Procedures.
Inventory Control & Reporting
Monitor stock levels, ensuring they align with the Inventory Levels & Reordering policy.
Approve all inventory adjustments, write-offs, and stock transfers.
Generate and analyze inventory reports using the Inventory Monitoring & Reporting system.
Operations & Coordination
Work with the Procurement, Projects, and Finance Departments to optimize inventory flow.
Supervise annual inventory audits and cycle counts.
Resolve major stock discrepancies and approve corrective actions.
2.2 Inventory Team Leader
The Inventory Team Leader oversees daily operations and coordinates between the Inventory Manager, Inventory Supervisor, and Storekeepers to ensure smooth warehouse and material flow.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise the implementation of inventory policies and procedures.
Assign daily tasks to the Inventory Supervisor and Storekeeper.
Ensure material requests and stock levels align with the Inventory Issuance Process.
Verify and escalate stock discrepancies to the Inventory Manager.
Conduct spot checks on inventory movement to prevent errors and losses.
2.3 Inventory Supervisor
The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for warehouse efficiency, ensuring proper material handling, and monitoring stock movement.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and issuance.
Monitor inventory levels, ensuring compliance with Inventory Control Procedures.
Ensure warehouse safety, security, and proper storage conditions.
Supervise cycle counts and daily inventory transactions.
Work closely with Storekeepers to resolve inventory discrepancies.
Report operational issues to the Inventory Team Leader.
2.4 Storekeeper
The Storekeeper is responsible for day-to-day inventory handling at the warehouse or project site, ensuring accurate documentation and stock movement.
Key Responsibilities
Material Receiving
Verify deliveries against Purchase Orders (POs) and generate Goods Receiving Notes (GRN).
Coordinate with the Quality Control Team for material inspections.
Material Issuance
Process approved Material Issue Requests (MI) and update stock records.
Ensure materials are issued as per approved project requirements.
Stock Handling & Documentation
Maintain accurate stock records and update the ERP system.
Organize inventory storage to prevent damage and ensure efficient retrieval.
Monitor stock levels and notify the Inventory Supervisor of low stock.
Security & Compliance
Follow all Inventory Security & Safety Procedures.
Report any theft, damage, or unauthorized access to the Inventory Supervisor.
